Resolutions for People With Bossy Cats

Happy New Year! Do you have a kitty? If so, your cute little pet may very well think she is in charge of the household. Fluffy may be small, but she has her human buddies wrapped firmly around her paws. This isn’t likely to change in 2017! Why not include your feline pal in your resolutions? Here, a Greensboro, NC vet lists some suggestions for people owned by bossy cats.

Play With Your Pet

Keep your feline overlord happy and purring by providing her with lots of fun toys. We also recommend taking a few minutes to play with her every day.

Invest In Cat Furniture

Cats don’t mind making themselves comfy on our things: Fluffy may sprawl out on your bed, or curl up on the sofa for a nap. Your feline pal will definitely benefit from having some things of her own, however. Cat towers are great, as they provide your kitty with a viewing point, a napping spot, a jungle gym, and a claw-care station, all in one. Pet tents and tipis will also keep your furball content and purring.

Offer Good Food

Fluffy has a habit of being finicky, but this isn’t just snobbery on your pet’s part. In the wild, cats eat their prey fresh, and will turn those cute little noses up at anything that smells even a little off. Make sure your furball is getting good, high-quality food!

Let Your Cat Choose Cuddle Time

Cats can be very particular about when they want attention. Fluffy may very well hop into your lap or rub against your legs when you are busy, only to ignore you when you want to pet her. You may as well abide by your kitty’s wishes!

Just Accept It: You’re Cat Furniture

Kitties certainly do love to sleep. Fluffy can spend well over half the day snoozing. She may move around from spot to spot, thoughtfully leaving fur on various pieces of furniture, before curling up in your lap. At some point this year, you’re going to stay seated, just because your sleepy pet is comfortably dozing in your lap and you don’t want to move her. That’s just part of the fun of being owned by a cat!
