6 Things That Completely Confuse Cats

Our feline friends may be small, but they have big personalities, and can definitely keep us smiling with their adorable antics. In fact, no matter how dignified your cat tries to act, there’s a pretty good chance you’ll find yourself laughing at her regularly. Of course, kitties are particularly adorable—and amusing—when they are confused. Read on as a Greensboro, NC vet lists some things cats just don’t understand.

Kitchenware

Have you ever dropped a pan when your cat was in the kitchen? Your kitty may very well have bolted for her favorite hiding place. She may also run out of the room when you are putting dishes away. Fluffy doesn’t understand the concept of cookware: she just knows she doesn’t like the noise!

Dogs

While many of our feline patients are quite friendly with their canine roommates, Fluffy and Fido are definitely not always on the same page. After all, dogs actually enjoy car rides, they never groom themselves, and they wag their tails when they’re happy. None of this makes any sense to cats!

Baths

While there are definitely some cats out there who love to splash around in water, most kitties absolutely hate getting wet! Fluffy also really just doesn’t understand why she’s being bathed.

Car Rides

Does your furball hate car rides? If so, she’s certainly in good company. Moving vehicles are definitely not one of Fluffy’s favorite things. Kitties just don’t understand the noises or movements, and often spend the duration of car rides loudly protesting the fact that they are, well, moving. The indignity!

Laser Pointers

Fluffy certainly is adorable when she is trying to chase that pesky red dot. Your feline friend may never understand the nature of her elusive prey, but she certainly will have fun trying! Just be sure never to shine the light directly into your pet’s eyes.

Us

We know that coming to visit us can be unsettling for cats. That’s why we do everything possible to ensure that they stay calm and comfortable during visits. We even provide free ear scritches and purr checks! However, while Fluffy will both look and feel better with regular veterinary care, she really doesn’t understand what her appointments are for.
